Pope Francis' testament, dated 29 June 2022, has been published, giving indications for his burial in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major.
2022년 6월 29일자로 작성된 프란치스코 교황의 유언이 공개되었습니다. 여기에는  산타 마리아 마조레 대성당(Basilica of Saint Mary Major)에 묻히고자 한다는 지침을 담고 있습니다.

As I sense the approaching twilight of my earthly life, and with firm hope in eternal life, I wish to set out my final wishes solely regarding the place of my burial.
이 세상에서의 삶의 황혼이 다가옴을 느끼며, 영원한 삶에 대한 굳건한 희망과 함께, 나는 내 무덤에 관한 마지막 소망만을 밝히고자 합니다.

Throughout my life, and during my ministry as a priest and bishop, I have always entrusted myself to the Mother of Our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary.
내 생애 내내, 그리고 사제와 주교로서의 사목 생활 동안, 나는 언제나 우리 주님의 어머니, 복되신 동정 마리아께 내 자신을 맡겨왔습니다.

For this reason, I ask that my mortal remains rest - awaiting the day of the Resurrection - in the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major.

I ask that my tomb be prepared in the burial niche in the side aisle between the Pauline Chapel (Chapel of the Salus Populi Romani) and the Sforza Chapel of the Basilica, as shown in the attached plan.
내 무덤은 바실리카의 파올리나 경당(로마 백성의 구원이신 성모님 경당)과 스포르차 경당 사이 측면통로의 묘지 구역에 마련해 주시기를 청합니다. 이는 첨부된 도면에 표시된 위치입니다.

 

로마 산타 마리아 마조레 대성당의 고해소 왼쪽 출입구가 보인다. 1월에 출간된 자서전에서 프란치스코 교황은 자신의 무덤이 "현재 촛대가 보관되어 있는 방"에 있을 것이라고 밝혔다. 촛대는 평화의 모후 마리아상과 마리아 성화상이 있는 경당 사이에 있는 작은 창고로, 교황은 해외 순방을 갈 때마다 그곳에서 기도를 드렸다.

The tomb should be in the ground; simple, without particular ornamentation, bearing only the inscription: Franciscus.
무덤은 땅속에 조성되며, 특별한 장식 없이 단순하게, "Franciscus"라는 이름만 새겨지기를 바랍니다.

The cost of preparing the burial will be covered by a sum provided by a benefactor, which I have arranged to be transferred to the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major.
장례 준비에 필요한 비용은 한 후원자가 제공한 기금으로 충당되며, 이는 산타 마리아 마조레 대성당으로 보내지도록 미리 조치해 두었습니다.

I have given the necessary instructions regarding this to Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas, Extraordinary Commissioner of the Liberian Basilica.
이와 관련된 필요한 지시는 대성당의 보좌대사제인 롤란다스 마크리카스 추기경에게 이미 전달해 두었습니다.

The suffering that has marked the final part of my life, I offer to the Lord, for peace in the world and for fraternity among peoples.
